EXPLORING LA: VB

Over the weekend we decided we were done wishing and decided to start doing. So we planned a trip around our city of Los Angeles. Being California girls you'd think we've hit all the local hot spots around LA. Wrong.                              Youtube // Bloglovin

Art surrounded us everywhere we went in Venice! It was pretty amazing.

The art around Venice was amazing, I was simply left speechless.

I shot this while in the car so I have no idea where it is or who painted it BUT look how amazing!

Although we have lived here our whole lives there are still some sites we have yet to explore. On Saturday morning, Carolina,Yalitza, Oscar, and I embarked on an anticipated adventure. Waking up at 7:00am on a Saturday morning is not something that happens everyday, so of course our parents were kind of suspicious, (we still live at home, duh) but none the less they were still glad to get rid of us for the weekend.
First stop was AmPm of course, got ourselves the biggest available size of coffee and stopped at Staterbros to exchange our coins into DOLLA DOLLA BILL$, we hit the jackpot and collected a total of $21.95! It was a success. Alas we were finally on our way to VENICE BEACH. I know what you're thinking "You live in Cali and you've never been to Venice Beach?" No, no we have but we were young and haven't revisited the place together. Anyways, it was grand. Being older and much more appreciative of the surrounding art and culture we enjoyed it much more than the first. Once we got there we found free parking so things were looking out for us. (Thank Da Lord) We walked around with our cameras and clapboard so we were bound to get some questions. We entered a cute surf shop and the owner was probably one of the raddest people ever. (Be sure to stop by VB Surf) He complimented us and gave me a sticker. (On the house, I'm telling you raddest person) he said we looked like college students because we carried ourselves with sophistication and class. (we blushed) LOL. After we left the place we walked around most of the surrounding neighborhood and stopped at a community garden made specially for Monarch Butterflies! It was so beautiful and made for some great photo shoots.
Next stop was HOLLYWOOD. We've NEVER been to Amoeba Music so obvs. it was on our list. We entered through the parking lot and I must say if you're ever around Amoeba you MUST enter through the parking lot, 'nough said. It was already 4:00 pm by the time we got out of Amoeba so we had to rush out if we wanted to make it to LACMA. We made it on time and being 17 we got in for free, expect for Carolina, being offish. an adult she had to pay her entrance(so much for being an adult). The art inside was great and all but we have to admit our favorite piece was the outdoor instillation of plastic rope like fixtures suspended overhead appearing like hanging spaghetti. We were allowed to touch it and go through it so DUH it was our favorite. WHO doesn't like to TOUCH the art!?
After a long and fulfilling day we still hadn't EATEN! We were starving and what better way to end the day than to eat BREAKFAST for DINNER!? (NONE, I'm telling you) We went to Denny's and ordered breakfast burritos, french toasts, pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, soups, and salads. We had a great waiter and we were right next to The Wiltern. (so, cough cough, cuties everywhere)
Our day was great and filled with great moments and lucky for you and  us we captured it all.
(ALSO, huge shout out to Oscar for being awesome and agreeing to drive us! THANK YOU QT!)
